Of my art, what would you like to see?

Of style, what shall I dare to try?

Greetings viewer!

So... you like my art, characters, concepts, themes, styles, and maybe even my story material?
Hmm.. let's see.  It says here, that you:
  • viewed my works,
  • put me on your watch list,
  • even swiped some pics as favorites?

Let me say it now: I am very appreciative of that, sincerely.
So: Many Thanks gang!

But, there is just one more thing....

Maybe you would like to see something in particular?
Maybe you would like to see someone I haven't drawn in a while?
Maybe you would like to see one of my characters in a different *ahem* 'situation'?
Maybe you wouldn't mind a new fan-art or new retro-themed poster?

So, what is the deal?

Well...
This is your chance to drop a suggestion.
This is something like a suggestion box,
except without the box part...

This is not commissions, no guarantees or promises, and it's not a generic request hot-line, but rather,
it's a chance for you to influence what I could draw next, be it:
traditional or digital.
sketchy or refined
new or retro
suggestive or dramatic
casual or serious
etc..
etc..

Hi everyone!

As always, thanks for the views and feedback support! I do appreciate it.

Thanks also once again for putting up with my skipping around with my art themes and styles and what have you.  I am in the process of promoting my art, characters and story world while at the same time refining the various plot strings and elements of what can be called my Magnum Opus, seeing that it is one of my most developed stories. Lastly, I am in the process of enhancing, perfecting and broadening the commercial appeal of my art, by tackling areas I am hesitant on and learning to paint/draw in different genres and motifs and styles.  This Deviant page of mine is for the above said purposes.

Now, my stories will always have various forms of visual-drama in them so you can rest assured that there will be those kinds of gimp/distress/limbloss themes here and there, but my angle is to weave those things into the story without making the story specifically about that, but to indirectly focus on it as I am a watcher of such things- so, from the eyes of the watcher comes the madness of wonder.

Secondly I admit that I am one of those souls who has a permanent insatiable love of all things female as would any hetero-guy and of course I say this with all due respect for the ladies, but I'm sorry, in my opinion, you women are and always will be wonderfully beautiful head to toe, relatively speaking.  Of course there are beautiful men and not so beautiful women but it's all really specific towards each individuals personal likes and dislikes.  So needless to say, my stories will invariably feature said beautiful females.  But I will say this- male and female in the form of a literary device, doesn't always mean or refer to the gender based differences.  Masculine and Feminine and Neutral can be applied to either male or female persons.  I feel the need to mention this because it can be confusing when I talk about the feminine and you're thinking T&A.  For example, my lead female characters represent much more than a female sexed human.. they represent something feminine that has nothing to do with physical orientation, but rather type of consciousness.  But I try and plan to weave this in subtly so as to not bore the audience.  Now on to something completely different:

  • If you have asked of me to draw any of your OC's and I have not got back to you yet- my apologies.  I should have got back with you sooner.  I tend to get caught up with getting my own art done and then life around me steps in and I get even more set backs.
  • As for the Furry and Taur type of toons, they are not my usual area of preference, but I am warming up to drawing them as I am looking to broaden my commercial stickiness factor.  (for those who may not know: In the business/commercial world when they talk of your stickiness it means your ability to stick to the potential client because you can offer many services, more than the competition.  A company that does well is a company that has a high stick factor to their client base.  Same can be said with us Artists, well at least in my opinion that's what it seems like, and of course it depends on the art field your working in)

Okay, I think that is it for now.  More pics are inbound!  If you would like to see more of any specific character of mine feel free to drop a note.  if you like my mini sequences and wouldn't mind seeing more let me know.. or at least feel free to drop a note.   My perfectionism shows up in my art- if my drawing isn't good or popular enough, it fails.. as my art is of a commercial nature- i.e. illustrative graphic-novel type of commercial nature, story telling- and this is the former Eraser King talking here :)! I was the worlds most frustrated artist for longest time because I couldn't make it look what I thought was right, meaning that it had some imperfection that didn't please the natural eye. I'm afraid that art isn't like gemstones where the natural imperfections add to the value.. when it comes to the eye and making a picture please the eye's expectations... getting it perfect does matter, but I guess that also depends on which type of art one is going for.  If you want to draw a portrait that looks like a photograph then getting it right matters.. but if it's art for the artsy sense then it's expression of self that matters, flaws or no flaws- and I do understand this by the way.

Hi, haven't done a journal in a while, here's what I was thinking about doing but haven't drawn much of yet and thank you for checking this out. Ahem:

Some of you who may like British style Wit and humor, may appreciate the following idea I am toying around with, although this type of humor most definitely doesn't preside with the British alone, (apologies to whomever), I cannot help myself, for you see, the madness of my creativity faculty is under the control of absolutely no one, least of all me. and I love parodies and paying homage to the greats.. etc etc..

I have a plan so subtle, you can put a bright yellow raincoat on it and call it a banana.

I'm thinking that Figit Dee, or Mister D, needs a 'pea-body', a sort of globular snot like creature resembling a crude but effective impersonation of the contents of someones handkerchief after a rather loud and productive blow.  This rather revolting idea of a creature, will be Mister D's servant and Mister D would be Lynn's servant- that is her magical servant.

For you see, Mister D's plight would be to ingratiate himself into the service of a human person, for the purpose of completing his trials as a magic ferret-dragon... whereas unfortunately, his Pea-Body, whom we shall call "Badgers", dreams to work his way up to the level of 'Git' but he can somehow manage to pull off magic, in much the same way a leper can somehow manage to pull off parts of their body.  But aside from that, Badgers is fresh out of Dragon- Magic school and you should be pleased to know, that he is the first in his class, which isn't much, considering he was the only one in his class.. but the less said about that the better.  This type of relationship, laced ever so subtly with banter, jokes and wit pertaining to perversions and innuendo, has potential for great appeal, I believe and hope.  Here is some of what I was thinking..

I have a Subtle plan to get you out of writing this journal.  In fact, if you got a moment, it is a plan so subtle that you can move to it, raise up a small town with kids and cattle, and six months later you could be dining in the mayors mansion drinking gallons of wine and eating all of finest Fillet Mignon the kingdom had to offer, while dozens of barefooted french peasant girls frolic up and down the hall singing "Oh What a Beautiful Morning", before it hits you..."This is a Subtle plan."

Title idea 1.) Stump and Circumstance

Lynn:  Oh, Mr. Dee, I don't want to be a lowly peasant girl forever, I want to find that perfect man who will come and sweep me off my feet!
Mr. D:  "Foot" ma'am. You want to find that perfect man who will sweep you off your 'foot'.
Lynn: OOOH Mr. Dee, you know what I mean... I just want to have that graceful dance in the middle of the Ballroom floor and he dips me back, and, well, I don't need to tell you what comes next (she grins)
Mr. D:  The vomiting?
Lynn: Eew, no Mr. Dee! "The Kiss" of course.. (her eye gets all starry as she looks up, imagining)
Mr. D: Right, of course.  Madam, I'm afraid you have all the elegance of a Turtle Curling Team from Na pal when it comes to grace, and as for dancing, there are rocks in the Sahara desert who can dance better than you.
Lynn: Well yes, of course.. any bucket of slop will know that.. Hmm... there must be some way to help me.

Just then a blob of goo, creeps it's way down Lynn's forehead.  Lynn stiffens up in disgust...

Lynn:  (screaming) Oh my crap! W-W-What is that!??? Get it off meeee! EEEEEEEEK!
Mr. D: (in a raised but stern voice) Not to worry milady, it's just Badgers, my Pea-body. (Dee, walks up to Lynn's face and says to Badgers who is just    drooping there) Badgers, ffwhat are you doing on Miss Lynn's head?
Badgers: (in a real smug voice) I am demonstrating my subtle plan to get miss Lynn that gallant chap she always dreamed about.  (just then Lynn's face     turns into an 'aw' face)
Mr. D: I see
Lynn: Aw! good (sitting back and sighing), your pet bugger may have just saved me, Figit.
Mr. D:  I wouldn't get your hopes up too much Ma'am, Badgers' idea of a subtle plan is as subtle as a horse trying to pass itself off as a pianist by wearing a tutu.  But do go on Badgers, what have you got?
Badgers:  Well, I will attach myself to where her arm used to be, and I'll just hang there...
Mr. D:  (face down looking up through top of eyes)  I see, and how is this going to attract Lynn a gallant stallion of a man?
Badgers: (holding up 3 olive picks he says): With these Mister Dee. (Badgers then sticks them in the end of his elongated globular form)
Lynn: (holding up her shoulder stump) Hmmm.. nope, I don't get it.
Mr. D:  So, let me see if I can wrap my head around this, your subtle plan is to hang down off of her stump, looking like the worlds longest cave worm with 3     olive picks sticking out of your rough end? Well, you did it Badgers.
Badgers: (with smug cheesy grin) Aw thank you Mister Dee....
Mr. D: Please, let me finish.  Just when I thought you could not have gone any further past zero, you surprised me yet again.  I mean, how did you even get out of Magic-School.  There are blades of grass that blow about in the wind that come up with greater subtle plans than you do Badgers..
Badgers: Well I'm not finished.  You know how you're good at magic and what not?
Mr D: (under his voice) Yeeeees?
Badgers: Well I figured I can do up some magic and 'poof': I look just like her arm.
Mr. D:  "Poof" Badgers?  You coudn't go 'poof' if I turned you into gunpowder and hosed you with a flame thrower.
Badgers: Oh yeah, that's right.
Mr. D:  (face palming) Ugh.. no, no, nice try Badgers, but it looks like I will have to come up with some subtle way to get, this lopsided mangy peasant girl the man of her dreams... perhaps then, I can graduate from human-services into the freer realm of planetary services.
Lynn: Oi, did you just call me mangy?  I'll have you know mister, that I'm a top notch sort of gal, any good man will see that.
Mr. D: Providing he was blind, milady, and had a fetish for danglely snotty things drooping from inappropriate places.. no no, I shall retire at once to my magical lair, ma'am, and work laboriously to outwit Badgers brilliant plan. (badgers and Mr Dee exit thru door)
(scene fades to black, only to have sign that says: 30 seconds later.  Figit and Badgers return)
Lynn: That was quick Mr Dee?
Mr. D:
Yes milady, there are samples of undiscovered soil in the rain forest basin of the Amazon who can come up with a more subtle plan than Badgers, and I think I may have found the trick to help your appearance...
Lynn: (sitting up all eager looking) OH? go on! what is it?

Then this is the idea he later comes up with in part- I will have to figure out a way to draw Badgers, so it looks like something real lowly.. just an idea.

---
You get the idea. It's not edited, and not refined, but might make for an interesting parody-like animation/play... ? or not..

Hey gang,

Just wanted to post a note, hope you all like my story and art and other shit so far :D

Regarding art and story:
I definitely have more where that came from.. heaps more in fact, it's just going to take time

Regarding Story:
I'm happy to say that recently I was able to timeline my whole series of sagas.. what a relief!  This shit has been in my head for decades- and I of course know the general procession of events but to actually get it down on paper in a timeline format.  Now I am in the process of finalizing (or fleshing out) the specifics.  I have refined things since 10 years ago.. since 15 years ago und so weiter..

Why am I doing this (my sagas)?  Well it's simple really- I want to show myself I can do it, for one thing.  Secondly, I think, if the stories are conveyed properly, it will be a good series- maybe a series that a lot of people will enjoy.  Thirdly, when I envision these dramas, I already see them in my minds eye as animation and it drives me crazy not being able to transpose that onto a movie screen, sometimes static illustrations just can't capture how the scene would play out. Not only do I see the scenes, but I hear the sounds and music- MAN! if it's done the way I am envisioning it- it will be epic, and emotional as hell.. super tense scenes with kick ass bizarre f--king sound effects.. drives me crazy man! Not being able to get these scenes out..   Plus I'm trying to introduce something a bit new and different, to help give audiences a break from rehashed same old shit... I'm offering epics and sagas, and dramas, that I hope will whisk the viewers away in the currents of emotion like riding a comet.  That's how I'm seeing this in my head- lol.. oh and lastly- Inside my mind it seems like a long saga- but once i start plotting out the episodes I want to see if actually is epic? Does that make sense? The term epic is supposed to mean 'very long'.. lol like Epic Poems have over 200 verses to them.. that's Epic.

Regarding Crew:
Man! I wish I had a team!  Just a team, it's not asking too much.. The team should include: A handful of writers; a whole freaking department of editors (cuz baby, I needz 'em!); some background illustrators (preferably new up and coming artists who want to get there shit out there) maybe some digital artists who can work the Manga Studio side of things (only because I'm not set up for that shit now); Uh.. oh yeah, some freaking animators and voice actors!  And maybe a couple of Lawyers to handle copyright shit.. oh and a publisher.. someone who will get these stories printed

And I'm still wrestling with HOW to portray the stories? I mean- damn! I can draw it, comic book it, graphic novel it- live action it, shit I can even see these stories as a CGI movie or a simple flash animation for crying out loud..it would sure be easier for my amputee characters doing CGI as opposed to digitally removing a live actors limbs.. (which I don't care how good they get at it, it's never going to be the same as an actual amputee).. so much to do.. so much to do..

You see, I have ideas, vision! Don't worry I'm not arrogant- I'm just super-excited.  I always had this dream of taking in new artists and creating new and different ways to show the story. My story world in fact, is made with new artists in mind! by new I mean artists who want to get their shit out there!  Think about it- it's an alternate reality earth.. you can have a chance to showcase your ideas (like clothing fashion, or vehicle design or gadget design, or some company name you envisioned..) in a world where you don't have to worry about the Brand Names we are all used to.  I'll give one example then I will stop- let's say there was no thomas edison, he got killed when he was five years old... so who got the credit for the light bulb? Tesla! DUH! LOL.. but let's say that Tesla was never shut down by fuck-face J.P Morgan (i'm buring typing that bastards name btw) well how would our world be today if Tesla's systems were refined and modernized?  YOU SEE! This world awaits you young creative artists and illustrators! Well, that was my dream anyways..

Okay, bye for now..

Tschüß!

Just wanted to take a moment and mention some really good anime... of course what's good or not is relative to personal opinion, tastes and preferences, but it seems to me that every once in a while a few titles rise to the top among the many series that are out there..

I'll start with the anime called Claymore.
It's basically about these group of girls (of course) who are able to kill demons because they are half demon blooded themselves.. which allows them to be endowed with abilities- namely super fighting sword moves.. and the ability to reattach severed limbs, which happens often. This anime has some slightly mature themes to it, but nothing lewd.  Bottom line, if you like that type of art and theme, you'll dig it, and it has good pace and story development- at least I think it does. All in all, it's good in my opinion, especially because of certain 'interests'

Next is an anime movie called Darkside Blues
This is an oldie, if I'm not mistaken and it's a bit of a weird movie, (I was never sure if it came from a manga or not)  But in my opinion the reason why this movie came into my view, is because in the beginning it has one of the best animated sequences of a girl turning to gold ever!  I am a ASFR fan, so any time i find something about someone turning into something else I grab it.  The sequence involves a living woman who is a prisoner being hooked up to some strange device and the woman with the hawk on her shoulder activates it- and we see a nice close up of the prisoners belly as the machine pumps whatever into her- and it slowly morphs-oozes into solid gold.. The sound effects are perfect, Best animated gold turning sequence EVER! and what sucks is that the machine stopped early and she was left to die with only her stomach area to mid thigh turned to gold..  "Why didn't they let us see the whole body turn to gold dammit!"  LOL
I usually don't care for the people being turned into statues to die- I like the idea that they are in stasis or something.. that to me is better.

Next anime series is the infamous or famous or notorious(:P) Elfen Lied anime..
If you like seeing people get dis-armed and de-legged and beheaded and otherwise turn into blood spray- this series is packed with it.. It features these special girls (once again: Of course) who have invisible arms that have a long range and can sever limbs like a surgeons scalpel... The show is kind of creepy in that you feel like you're walking along side a pretty girl who can at any moment switch personalities into this psychopathic killer monster girl..
But what makes this anime famous is the scene where Lucy fights Nana and pulls/cuts her limbs off- (and this is in the first disk episode 4 i think) it's really good amputation sequence- stands out in my mind, and Nana isn't killed off either- I hate it when they kill off amputee characters in movies and shows- Nana uses 4 of her invisible arms to hold on special prosthetic limbs for the rest of the series.. and she has a couple of prat falls later where she loses hold of the limbs and you can see her as a quad.. Yep this series is pretty iconic for amputee fans

Next Series is Kill La Kill
I'll just say this: Utterly Fantastic Anime! I like everything about this series- Here's why 1.) it plays like a long long movie - 25 episodes which i like. 2) It features super powered girls fighting- which I really like.. 3.) the comedy is freaking hilarious, and well played. 4.) the anime style and facial expressions are refreshingly different and awesome 5.) the demonstrations of Power are freaking amazing, and well portrayed in my opinion. 6.) The gratuitous use of shining light coupled with awesome sound effects- adds to the greatness 7.) the use of 3d is nicely blended in to the 2d elements- always a plus there 8.) the story development- my god- do you have a moment? LOL The way the story develops is fantastic- because it leads you to believe that this is just another goofy comedy anime- but then it starts to get serious/real- like damn, this is freaking fantastic!  - This is just one goddamn freaking great anime.. like I say- I can't believe it took me so long to get to it.. (man, i've been out of the anime loop too long i watched Kill La Kill like last year 2015 i think)

Next we come to yet another effing fantastic anime! Moribito Guardian of The Spirit.
Where to start with this fantastic series? Okay- well 1.)It's drawn totally different than typical anime- by that I mean the artist actually draws big regular type Noses for one.. :D LOL, which means you'll probably need a moment or two to get used to the art sytle  2.) It's set in ancient Japan, BEFORE the Shogunate / Samurai days So you get this ancient japan feeling but without Kitanas or Wazakis, it's great!.. and- goddamn- the freaking backgrounds are amazing in my opinion- (I say this because I aspire to draw backgrounds that work and are epic- and seeing shit like this makes me want to get better, so I totally admire amazing backgrounds)  3.) the main character is a 30 year old woman Balsa, who is a well trained spear fighter! I LOVE THAT! I am eternally in love with strong powerful female lead characters! Hell-the-f-yeah! 4.) These guys have perfectly incorporated 3d elements to this series in way that it doesn't look like any 3d shit was used- in other words I thought it was well blended, it didn't stand out. I say this because I am a fan of traditional cel painted anime, and when the CG aspect started to be introduced it stood out in the shows.. but now they're much better at it. okay 5.) It's a slow paced anime.. lots of quiet scenes and glances and looks which is relaxing and refreshing. 6.) God, the martial arts in this show- It's powerful but yet- REALISTIC! - I love the way they portray the fighting- straight up martial arts combat.. and yes there are magical elements to this movie- but they kept it out of the martial combat- which I thought was good. 7.) This is one of the few anime where they depict characters doing clever things that you will probably never have seen in any other movies.. like smart things.. I'll give you one example- a group of hunters was trying to figure out where to look to find the main character.. so they decide to sit and meditate to try to think what she would do!! Boring right? but still- who the f--k does that in movies? LOL FANTASTIC! 8.) Oh this series also plays like one long ass movie, divided into 20-30 episodes, I'm a big fan of that if you can't tell yet.. LOL 9.) Okay, the freaking characters are all memorable and unique in my opinion.. so that's a plus. 10.) The mood and emotion produced by the series is effective and well done which leads me to. 11.) the Plot! It is very well developed and unfolds beautifully, but I must warn those of you who are fast paced or impatient, you may have trouble getting through the middle episodes.. I'll say it like this- to me the story starts off exciting, then kind of slows up a bit in the middle, my guess is to build up tension, then the end starts to get kind of like a roller coaster going down hill.. so if you take your time and wait it out- it pays off..

When I first watched this series I watched a couple episodes each day after work- I didn't try to watch it all in one day..

That's it for the anime I wanted to mention for now. :D Like I said- very subject to relativity
